Rules, details, and feature summaries for Monsters & Mermaids.
A GROUP consists of a set of 3 or more of the same symbol connected horizontally and/or vertically.
A GROUP of 5 or more "Treasure Chest", "Mermaid", "Pirate", "Parrot", "Pirate Ship", or "Sea Monster" symbols trigger the Map Feature.
Before the reel spin initiates, the 3 center positions on row 2 may switch to an alternate reel. If the 3 center positions switch, 1 or more additional positions may switch to an alternate reel. For each position that switches, a number of positions on the alternate reel are randomly replaced with a "Treasure Chest", "Mermaid", "Pirate", "Parrot", "Pirate Ship", "Sea Monster", "Ship Wheel", "Treasure Map", "Spyglass", "Anchor", or "Rum Bottle".
After a wager has been placed, 9 random mermaids are distributed on a screen with 9 rows and 11 columns, excluding the 15 positions that compromise the base game reel screen.
Pays are evaluated for any non-triggering GROUPS, and then 1 feature spin is awarded.
Triggering GROUPS are locked in place for the duration of the feature.
During the Map Feature, an alternate set of reels are used consisting of blank and the triggering GROUP symbol.
During each feature spin: For each position that is locked on the previous spin, each unlocked horizontally or vertically adjacent position will spin. If a spinning position is adjacent to more than 1 GROUP of different symbols and multiple GROUPS are eligible to spin for that position, the reel will contain the highest-ranked participating symbol from the table below:
Any additional symbol that lands will be locked in placed for the remainder of the feature. If a symbol lands in a position that contains a mermaid, the mermaid awards a multiplier for that GROUP. If a mermaid's multiplier would not be kept for any GROUP, the mermaid is removed from the screen.
If the number of locked symbols increases, 1 additional feature spin is awarded.
"Bonus" symbols in each of the center 3 positions on row 2 triggers the Pick Feature.
Choose 1 of the flags presented to reveal a credit prize of 120-1000x bet multiplier or the Siren Search Bonus feature.
Siren Search Bonus:
3 ships start in horizontally adjacent positions in the center of a grid with 9 rows and 11 columns.
Each round, move each ship to an untraversed vertically or horizontally adjacent position. Each non-sunken ship must be moved in the order of red, blue, then green. If a position adjacent to a ship has been traversed and the next position further is untraversed, that position is made available for selection. If non of these positions are available, the ship sinks. If the ship moves and does not sink in the new position, a credit prize of 25-600x bet multiplier is collected.
After the first 2 rounds, 33 monsters and 11 mermaids will be randomly hidden through the grid in untraversed positions. If a ship moves into a position with a hidden monster, the ship sinks. If a ship moves into a position with a hidden mermaid, the ship sinks and a multiplier is applied to all credit prizes collected by that ship according to the Siren Search Pay Table.
Once a ship sinks, it can no longer be moved. The bonus ends when all 3 ships sink.
