The six men comprising STYX have committed to rocking the Paradise together with audiences far and wide. Averaging over 100 shows a year every year since 1999, STYX is adding Tropicana Atlantic City to their impressive track record of performances on Friday, March 20 at 9 p.m.
STYX draws from over four decades of barn burning chart hits, joyous singalongs and hard driving deep cuts such as “The Grand Illusion,” “Blue Collar Man,” “Lady,” “Miss America,” “Man in the Wilderness,” “Crystal Ball,” “Come Sail Away,” and “Renegade.” Like a symphony that builds to a satisfying crescendo, a Styx set covers a wide range of stylistic cornerstones and immerses one’s mind and body in their signature sound.
A known producer of hit albums, STYX has the unique distinction of being the first band in rock history to have four consecutive certified multimillion-selling albums in a row: 1977’s The Grand Illusion, 1978’s Pieces of Eight, 1979’s Cornerstone, and 1981’s Paradise Theatre. Over the ensuing decade, Styx weathered the shifting winds of the public’s musical taste, reconvening for a highly successful 1996 Return to Paradise tour.
Most recently, STYX’s sonically sweet 16th studio album and its most ambitious, most challenging, and most rewarding album to date, THE MISSION, was finally released June 16, 2017 on the band’s label, Alpha Dog 2T/UMe after 14 years. The album debuted on various Billboard charts, including: #6 Top Rock Albums, #11 Physical Albums, #11 Vinyl Albums, #13 Current Albums, #14 Billboard Top Albums, #16 Retail, #17 Mass Merch/Non-Traditional, #29 Digital Albums, and #45 Billboard 200.
