In some regions of the country, some casinos and resorts are taking precautionary measures amidst the (COVID-19) outbreak and announcing various changes to their procedures and/or business operations.

Many of the casinos and resorts that remain open are also taking extraordinary precautions to keep guests safe with enhanced cleaning of their facilities among other increased measures.

Be sure to visit the official site for the casino you are preparing to visit for the latest updates and announcements.

We will keep the list below in this post updated as we confirm official announcements from resorts and casinos regarding these changes.


Confirmed Temporary Closings


Alabama:

Wind Creek Atmore Casino & Hotel (Atmore, AL) In response to COVID-19, all Wind Creek Properties are closed until further notice. More information at windcreekatmore.com.



California:

Black Oak Casino Resort (Tuolumne, CA) To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, the Tuolumne Band of Me-Wuk Indians, the Tuolumne Economic Development Authority, Inc. (TEDA) and Black Oak Casino Resort management have decided to temporarily cease casino operations. The casino will close on Wednesday, March 18 at 8 p.m. through Tuesday, March 31. Blue Lake Casino Hotel (Blue Lake, CA) "The Blue Lake Rancheria values your business and is actively monitoring the coronavirus (COVID-19), taking the matter very seriously. From the direction of tribal government, the tribe is choosing to close the Blue Lake Casino, Alice’s Restaurant, Sushi Blue, the Wave Lounge, and the Lily Pad Café on Wednesday, March 18th, starting at 2 a.m.The Blue Lake Casino’s doors will remain closed until the end of March, when the tribe will re-evaluate the situation. The tribe is choosing to act out of an abundance of caution and is honoring Governor Gavin Newsom’s request as well as strictly following recommendations from the World Health Organization (WHO), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Humboldt County Department of Health and Human Services, and other trusted sources of information." Pechanga Resort and Casino (Temecula, CA) (March 14, 2020) - Tribal Leaders today announced that the Pechanga Resort Casino will be temporarily closing due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The closure will be effective Monday, March 16 at 12 p.m. through the end of March. More information at pechanga.com.



Delaware:

Casino @ Delaware Park (Wilmington, DE) - The Casino @ Delaware Park will be closing at 6am on Monday, March 16th until further notice. Visit delawarepark.com for more information.



Illinois:

Argosy Casino Alton (Alton, IL) - "On Friday we received notification by the Illinois Gaming Board that we must temporarily suspend operations effective Monday, March 16, at Penn National’s three casinos in Illinois for a 14 day period as a precautionary measure against the ongoing spread of COVID-19." Harrah's Metropolis (Metropolis, IL) - "For the well-being of our team members and guests, Harrah’s Metropolis will be temporarily closed effective at midnight on Monday, March 16, 2020." Visit caesars.com/harrahs-metropolis for more information.

Hollywood Casino Aurora (Aurora, IL) - "On Friday we received notification by the Illinois Gaming Board that we must temporarily suspend operations effective Monday, March 16, at Penn National’s three casinos in Illinois for a 14 day period as a precautionary measure against the ongoing spread of COVID-19." Rivers Casino Des Plaines - Chicago (Des Plaines, IL) - "In the best interests of our team members, Guests and the Chicagoland community, we are temporarily closing Rivers Casino Des Plaines effective Sunday, March 15, at 11:59PM for fourteen days." Indiana:

Ameristar East Chicago (East Chicago, IN) - "While there have been no confirmed cases of COVID-19 at Ameristar Casino Hotel East Chicago, pursuant to an order from the Indiana Gaming Commission (“IGC”), Ameristar East Chicago will be temporarily suspending operations for a period of two weeks beginning Monday, March 16, 2020, as a precautionary measure against the ongoing spread of COVID-19." Belterra Casino Resort & Spa (Florence, IN) - "On Mar. 14, the Indiana Gaming Commission ordered a temporary closure of all casinos to help prevent the spread of Covid-19. While no cases were reported @Belterra, we will close on Mon., Mar. 16, at 6am." More information at belterracasino.com.



Iowa:

Q Casino (Dubuque, IA) - "In light of the reported spread of COVID-19, Jesús Avilés, Q Casino President and CEO, has determined that in the best interest of our team members, guests and surrounding community, Q Casino will temporarily close at 11:30pm on Monday, March 16, 2020. Nevada:

ARIA Resort & Casino (Las Vegas, NV) - "MGM Resorts will temporarily close all Las Vegas properties as of end of day Tuesday, March 17 for the good of employees, guests and communities. Bellagio (Las Vegas, NV) - "MGM Resorts will temporarily close all Las Vegas properties as of end of day Tuesday, March 17 for the good of employees, guests and communities. We are taking reservations for arrivals beginning Thursday, April 2nd." More information at excalibur.mgmresorts.com.


Binion's Gambling Hall (Las Vegas, NV) - "In accordance with Governor Sisolak’s directive, Binion’s Gambling Hall and Hotel closed it's casino at 12:00am last night. Our hotel and restaurants are closed as of today. We will be closed for the next 30 days. We greatly appreciate the concern and support of all of our beloved guests and employees at this time. Excalibur Hotel & Casino (Las Vegas, NV) - "MGM Resorts will temporarily close all Las Vegas properties as of end of day Tuesday, March 17 for the good of employees, guests and communities. Luxor Resort & Casino (Las Vegas, NV) - "MGM Resorts will temporarily close all Las Vegas properties as of end of day Tuesday, March 17 for the good of employees, guests and communities. Paris Las Vegas (Las Vegas, NV) - "Caesars Entertainment Corporation has temporarily shut down its owned properties in North America, consistent with directives from various government bodies.“It has become clear that we must take this extreme action to help contain the virus and protect the safety and well-being of our team members and guests,” said Caesars Entertainment CEO Tony Rodio.Caesars is working to ensure a smooth closing process throughout its network and looks forward to welcoming back team members and guests as soon as appropriate. Park MGM Las Vegas (Las Vegas, NV) - "MGM Resorts will temporarily close all Las Vegas properties as of end of day Tuesday, March 17 for the good of employees, guests and communities. Treasure Island Resort & Casino (Las Vegas, NV) - "Treasure Island Resort & Casino will close temporarily beginning at 9 p.m. on March 17, 2020. The closure is intended to help slow the potential spread of COVID-19 in Minnesota and is expected to last for at least two weeks, after which time the situation will be reevaluated.We are taking this extraordinary measure to protect the safety and well-being of our guests, team members, and Tribe. Given the latest community mitigation guidance from state and federal health officials, closing Treasure Island is the best course of action.While we have confidence in our already rigorous cleaning policies and our enhanced mitigation efforts, which included closing large sections of the casino, health officials now say that shutting down gathering spots is what is needed to help slow the spread of COVID-19. New Jersey:

Borgata (Atlantic City, NJ) - "In compliance with Governor Murphy’s order, Borgata will temporarily suspend operations as of 8:00 pm EST on Monday, March 16. We will reopen as soon as it is appropriate and safe to do so." Visit theborgata.com for more information.




New York:

Empire City Casino (Yonkers, NY) - "The health and safety of our customers and employees come first. While it was a difficult decision, Empire City Casino will suspend operations and temporarily close as of 6:00 a.m. March 14th. We anticipate reopening within 14 days. Jake's 58 (Islandia, NY)
- "The situation surrounding coronavirus (COVID-19) is rapidly developing, and Jake’s 58 Casino Hotel continues to be focused on efforts at our facility to protect the health and safety of our guests and employees. We temporarily closed the casino until further notice beginning at 6 p.m. today, March 14. Our hotel and main restaurant will remain open until noon Sunday, March 15, to accommodate overnight guests. Belterra Park Gaming (Cincinnati, OH) - "While there have been no reported cases of Covid-19 at our property, based on the Ohio Department of Health’s order, Belterra Park is currently closed as of on Friday, March 13, at 12am.This closure will impact both the gaming floor and all restaurants.We do not have a reopening date at this time, but will provide additional updates as they become available. Oklahoma:

WinStar World Casino and Resort (Thackerville, OK) - "The health and safety of our patrons and employees is of paramount importance. While there have been no reported cases of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) at WinStar World Casino and Resort, we have determined it is in the best interest of our patrons and employees to temporarily close the casino, all retail stores and all casino restaurants in accordance with health official directives discouraging mass gatherings of 50 people or more to slow the transmission of this virus. The WinStar World Casino Hotel will remain open at this time. The Terrace View Café inside the WinStar World Casino Hotel and The Spa at WinStar will remain open and will limit service to no more than 50 guests at a time.Fun Town RV Park at WinStar, WinStar Golf Club, WinStar Golf Academy will remain open. Rivers Casino Philadelphia (Philadelphia, PA) - "In the best interests of our Team Members, guests and the Greater Philadelphia community, we are temporarily closing Rivers Casino Philadelphia effective Sunday, March 15, at 11:59PM for fourteen days. Although there have been no known cases of COVID-19 at the property, we are suspending operations out of an abundance of caution and to promote the social distancing recommended by health officials."
